Digital Strategy
Serving up serious member value.
CSNM was looking to create a vastly improved user experience, expose their value to members and streamline their workflows. Ultimately, they wanted to strengthen engagement with current members while providing multiple onramps and incentives for potential members to join.
The new website needed to reflect a leading organization while coming across as welcoming and approachable. This required a streamlined navigation with clear hierarchy and obvious paths for users on various stages of their nutrition management journey – from working professionals, to students, and corporate members.
Nutrition managers are a diverse audience with a wide variety of ages, backgrounds, cultures, and technical proficiency. As such, they have unique needs when it comes to using CSNM’s website. To connect with this audience, we had to clearly demonstrate value by making member-exclusive resources and education materials easily accessible and highly relevant to them.


UX/UI Design
Freshly designed for modern nutrition.
CSNM strives to be modern, professional, exciting, inclusive and dynamic. Before starting the website, we elevated the CSNM brand to mirror these desired brand personality traits and help position the organization as an inspiring leader in the Canadian nutrition space. The newly designed logo, accessible typography, refreshed palette and graphics work together to establish a look and feel that captures CSNM’s vibrant community and the passion of the profession.
The website’s overall design balances bold splashes of colour with ample whitespace, playful health iconography and graphics with professional imagery – a complete transformation from the dated design of the previous website.
We curated a library of stock imagery that is more authentic to the CSNM brand creating an experience that feels instantly more contemporary. We also ensured the selection of imagery highlights the diversity of the industry and shows the varied roles of nutrition managers.



Content Optimization
Truly digestible content.
CSNM’s previous website content was dense and difficult to parse. Interior pages were often text-heavy with little structure. Keeping in mind that CSNM’s tone for writing should be equal parts professional and inspiring, we reworked over 60 pages of content.
Focusing on key member benefits and value, our copy team thoughtfully organized content into bite-size sections to make the content more web-friendly and easier to scan. From continuing education and certification, to exclusive resources, events and networking, new content throughout the site reinforces that a CSNM membership holds tremendous value.

Development
Made to order for member needs.
The website is configured to create a clear distinction between Members-only pages and pages that are available to all. For potential members who are in an exploratory phase, the site offers public-facing and “teaser” content to showcase why becoming a CSNM member is worthwhile. Once logged-in, members have a personalized dashboard that provides them with timely updates and directs them to member exclusives.
The search feature on related association websites is often an afterthought, producing results that are unorganized and unintuitive. We developed a more thoughtful search experience that helps users make their way through a robust amount of content and find what they’re looking for quickly.

CSNM now has a modern digital presence that reflects their association’s ethos. Potential members can see that there is clear value in joining. Meanwhile, current members gain access to a vibrant community and a wealth of resources designed to empower their professional journey.
Built leveraging WordPress’ Gutenberg block editor, the platform gives CSNM full control to continue to add valuable content and resources with ease. The result is a digital experience that helps their members stay on top of their game so they can learn more, make connections, and find rewarding opportunities.
