We’re thrilled to announce that Twirling Umbrellas has won two awards for best website in two categories of the 13th Web Excellence Awards competition!
This year’s fiercely competitive field included 1,000+ submissions from 24 countries across four continents. We’re proud to be able to recognize our team’s hard work, vision, and commitment to quality on these two projects among all the great ones we worked on this year.

Canadian Institute of Planners – Winner, Urban Design
The Canadian Institute of Planners’ new website is an accessible and inclusive platform that highlights CIP’s value to new and current members and is positioned as the go-to resource for Canadian planners.
By building a member-first platform with a polished, clean, and professional architectural aesthetic, the new site has an overall sense of momentum and action when users arrive, with added urban design components incorporated throughout the experience.
A variety of content types and interactive elements guided users throughout the site with scannable information and a clear organization of content. CIP is now set up to keep users engaged by making timely site updates with ease.
Clear Seas – Winner, Sustainability
As a government-funded organization, Clear Seas must have a digital presence that conveys trust. But that doesn’t mean it needs to be static, forgettable, and outdated.
We gave Clear Seas’ new website a cohesive design with an elevated and engaging user experience, allowing users to navigate and explore their robust resources efficiently. Its new inspired approach now offers an engaging experience that connects with people and policymakers across Canada. Take, for example, their new About page, with its visually driven and dynamic way of telling the organization’s story.
